Deep run in Sunday WarmUp (23/4691)

This past Sunday I had run a deep in the Poker Stars $215 Sunday Warm Up. I placed 23rd for $2.3k however was gutted with the overall result. After 8 hours of play and down to the final 30 I'm sitting with an above average stack. I 4 bet a late position raiser on the button with AQ and we eventually get it in for what was a $1.5m pot. Winning this would have seen my stack grow to around $2.3m.

I'm delighted to see him table AJ however this was short lived when a J hits the flop and he rakes the pot. Totally gutting however I got very lucky in a hand earlier in tourney so I guess it evened itself out. With that said I would have been in great shape and had a fantastic shot at a $150k score had I won that pot.

Left short I spend the next half an hour shoving and end up getting back up to about $1m, however I eventually run my pocket Jacks into pocket Aces and its goodnight.

That was my 2nd Sunday Warm Up cash this month and I have also had 2 deep runs in the Party Million in recent months. Although the initial disappointment isn't great once that elevates it just makes you even more hungry to persist.

Busy few months & a FT

I made the Big Antes Final Table again tonight on Stars but unfortunately couldn't take it down back to back. I did manage 3rd for around $600 which is decent enough. Also made it deep in the $11 rebuy however busted with KJ on a K78 K A board Vs 77. Maybe could have gotten away from this hand however always hard to fold these deep in a tourney Vs an aggressive big stack.

My MTT volume has been this highest I've ever played this month, resulting in over 10 MTT cashes for well over $3k and the month still isn't over. I'll post up all this months cashes towards the beginning of next week.

I'm off to Egypt on Wednesday and will be heading straight up to Coventry for the £550 UKIPT Main Event a day after my return. In May I'll be playing the £550 CBMPT at Harbourside Bristol and a week later be heading to Dusk Till Dawn for the UKIPT Main. Then just a few weeks later I'll be heading to Vegas with Dan for the first $1k WSOP event as well as a number of Venetian Deepstack events. So all in all its going to be a very busy few months for me. Egypt, UKIPT Cov, CBMPT Brizzle, UKIPT @ DTD and then Vegas for the WSOP and Venetian.

Shipped the PS daily Big Antes

Took down the daily big antes tourney on Stars. These tourneys definitely suit the more aggressive player. Also the payout structure isn't as harsh as other tourneys.

I was lucky in that my final table was very very soft. Despite suffering 2 bad beats during the final table I still managed to build my stack with the ever so useful 3 bet shove lol. 4 handed it was just a case of raise, raise and raise :D I managed to pick up over half the chips in play without showing down a hand and took it down from there.

2nd for $1.6k - $44 4 MAX

Having finished 4th for about $500 in this tourney last time I played this I was adamant to give this one another shot. When I finished 4th, I made the 4 MAX final table as chip leader. However my AA wasn't a match for Q4s and somehow the table donk managed to wake up with KK when I found AK.

However I made the FT for a 2nd time on the trot and managed a slightly better finish of 2nd. Not much more to say about this one, I went into HU with a 3/1 chip deficit so now qualms really...
